Clomid is a powerful anti-estrogen that is officially called a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator (SERM) It's similar to another popular medication called Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate) Clomid gained worldwide attention in the early 1970’s as a strong fertility aid and is still used today. It is also one of the most commonly used SERM’s by users of anabolic steroids. It is not an anabolic steroid, but it can be used to treat side effects caused by anabolic steroids. It can also be used as a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) medication to boost testosterone production. Clomid PCT use is the most common and most beneficial point of use for the anabolic steroid user.

Characteristics

Clomiphene Citrate is a medicine that helps with fertility because it makes gonadotropins work better. Clomid can block estrogens negative feedback on the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Ovarian-Axis. This will increase the release of Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and Follicle Stimulating Hormon. By increasing gonadotropin release, the egg can be released, which increases the chance of conception.

Clomid can help with menstrual problems, but it's mostly used to make anabolic steroids. Testosterone can turn into estrogen when it interacts with an enzyme called aromatase. When estrogen levels go up, this can lead to gynecomastia and excess water retention. Keeping too much water can cause high blood pressure. When you take anabolic steroids, Clomid will attach to the estrogen receptors and stop the hormone from binding. Clomid blocks estrogen from stimulating the mammary tissue, which can help fight gynecomastia. It can help keep water in your body longer, but it won't actually lower the amount of estrogen in your body.

Clomid also has traits that are good for anabolic steroid users. We're talking about Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) specifically. Clomid can also stimulate the pituitary gland to release more LH and FSH, which will increase natural testosterone production. This is very helpful for the anabolic steroid user post cycle as natural testosterone levels will be very low because of the suppression caused by anabolic steroid use.

Side Effects

Clomid is one of the best SERM’s and anti-estrogens on the market. This is true for both men and women. Clomid has a very high tolerance level, but side effects can happen. But “possible” is the key word and an important one. Many people seem to enjoy saying that anabolic steroids and non-steroidal items used by anabolic steroid users will have side effects. This is not true. Most people can use Clomid without any side effects.

Clomid side effects are very rare. Some women who have used the SERM as a fertility aid have had their ovarian enlargement, but this is very rare. Clomid can cause other problems like:

    Headaches are common.
    Nausea and vomiting.
    Flashes of Hot Flashes.
    Uterine Bleeding is a very rare condition.
    A breast pain

Clomid can also cause problems with vision. Clomid can cause blurred or hazy vision in about 1.5% of people who use it. If this happens, stop using the medicine and look for other options. Usually, when you stop using something, your vision will return to normal quickly. But some people have had problems with their eyes that didn't go away after stopping taking them. Usually, these cases have been linked to long-term use of high doses. If visual disturbances occur, stop use immediately and choose another SERM to meet your needs.

Some people may get acne with Clomid. This is most common when the SERM is part of a PCT program. In this case, it’s the high amount of natural testosterone that’s now being produced that’s causing the issue. Some people may get pimples on their back, shoulders or chest.

Dosage

Clomid dosages will usually be at 50mg per day. The way it works is simple. Five days before your period, you take a 50mg dose every day for five straight days. If this doesn't work, the dose is usually increased to 100mg per day. This cycle will repeat 5-6 times until the woman becomes pregnant. If conception does not occur after 5-6 cycles of therapy, alternative treatments will need to be looked at.

Clomid doses for on cycle estrogenic protection will usually be 50mg per day for the duration of the cycle. If this doesn't work, then even more Clomid won't help. Many people have reported greater success with the SERM Nolvadex for on cycle protection. However, you may need an AI like Arimidex.

After that, we have to use PCT Clomid. Clomid doses will usually start at 100-150 mg per day for 1-2 weeks. From here, the dose will go down to 50-100 mg per day for 1-2 weeks and then go back up to 50 mg per day for 1-2 weeks. Clomid therapy should last 4-6 weeks, so doses should be based on that total schedule. Most people will also be much more successful in their PCT recovery by including Nolvadex and HCG. Timing is also important when planning your Clomid PCT use. This timing factor will vary depending on whether HCG is added.
